Kiddie Korner is proud to be the largest and most established Jewish Preschool in downtown Brooklyn. There really is no other preschool of its kind in the community. We strive to nurture and educate children from ages 3 months to 5 years, and we have five grades, which encourage early childhood maturity.

Beginning in 1991, with just one class in a Brooklyn Heights parlor apartment, we have now grown to over sixty children. In 1998, we relocated to our current 4-story brownstone building.

Our Mission
To recognize that each child has his/her own unique emotional, intellectual, social, mental and physical capacities. By respecting each child on his/her merits, we blend Judaic and secular subjects into a program that is rich, fulfilling, and stimulating.

Faculty
As a fully accredited preschool, our faculty are hand-picked, screened and trained professionals with a university degree in early childhood education.

Curriculum
As early childhood educators, we must keep our curriculum on the cutting edge, continually updating our programming to keep pace with new developments in the field of early childhood education.

We encourage children to explore the world while developing small and large muscle coordination, eye-hand coordination and strong language skills. Our daily schedule includes:

• Reading readiness;
• Hebrew & English Alphabet ;
• Art;
• Dramatics;
• Computers;
• Music & movement;
• Large motor activities in a specially designed preschool outdoor space;
• Jewish Culture;
• Stories and quiet time;
• Manipulative play (i.e. building sets, puzzles, etc);
• Baking.

Partnership with Parents
We want parents to share in their children's early learning experiences. Parents are urged to discuss their children's progress with the teachers. They are also invited to join preschool sponsored family get-togethers and parenting workshops.

Kiddie Korner involves the whole family. Parents, grandparents and siblings participate in many of our programs. Our Holiday Discovery, Mothers Day Brunch, Chanukah Celebration, Family Shabbat Dinner, Purim party and Costume Celebration, Model Passover Seder, Grandparents Day are some of the events that include the whole family. We also offer parenting programs and classes for parents who want to learn more about our traditions.

Admission Policy
Synagogue membership is not required. Enrollment is based on the child's developmental readiness for the program. We strive to balance both the gender and the age of children in the class.

Beginning in January, we accept enrollment applications. We encourage an open door policy. Parents are welcome to come and visit the school at any time during the year.
