There is no Jewish experience more powerful than overnight summer camp.
Our synagogue has been selected to participate in an exciting opportunity UJA-Federation of New York's 2008 Campership Program, which offers stipends for families who would like to send thier children to a Jewish overnight camp.
Children attending a Jewish camp for the first time can receive $1,250, and those attending camp for the second time can receive $750. The program is not based on need; there are no economic criteria.
To be eligible, your child must reside in New York City or Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester counties and be between the ages of 8 and 16 as of June 1, 2008.
Please contact Rabbi Raskin at ravraskin@aol.com for more information. For a listing of the nearly 140 eligible camps, visit www.jewishcamping.org.
The program begins Friday, February 1, 2008. Tell your child, and tell all of your friends!
